Jacco Oosterhof

Jacco started his career at the Baarsma Wine Group in 2005 where, at the time, 1 out of every 3 bottles of wine came from the Netherlands. In 2007 he started working at 1 of the smaller business units of Baarsma that did 'something with the Internet'. From here he and a small team built the rollout of Wijnvoordeel in Europe. In 2015, this 'small business unit' became so big that he and 3 other managers did a management buy-out and founded E-Luscious; now a fixture in the Twinkle Top 100 for many years. This was soon followed by the purchase of Koffievoordeel and all the cross-border experience was put to use once again.

With over 16 years of international e-commerce experience, Jacco Oosterhof is one of the Netherlands' crossborder pioneers, and during his presentation you will hear from him how he has handled this expansion and what his key lessons have been.

Title presentation:

How the European rise of E-Luscious began in Friesland

E-Luscious has been the market leader in the online sale of coffee and wine in the Netherlands & Belgium for years, but has made great strides in recent years to become the biggest player in Europe. The main initiator of this European expansion and the common thread in all expansions over the past 16 years is Jacco Oosterhof. He is currently Head of Business Development and during his presentation he will take us through his experiences of the past years.

How do you determine which countries you do/don't open? How do marketplaces influence/help you anno 2023? How do you deal with local preferences in terms of product but also logistics, payment methods and legislation? From broken packages to rebellious customs officers, from click farms to confusion of tongues: everything will pass in his presentation.
