Patrick Verkaart has earned his stripes in commerce at PostNL and Spotta, among others. Almost always he acted at the intersection of commerce and the development of people and teams. For the past five years he has led the e-commerce team at YourSurprise. This is where his passion for the dynamic world of e-commerce grew, but in particular also the passion to build an international, multicultural team that is continuously ambitious to realize the annual growth targets with YourSurprise.

YourSurprise is the online specialist in personalized gifts in 28 countries. All the gifts in the assortment are unique because the customer adds their own photo, name or personal message. YourSurprise has been able to continue to grow in sales every year since 2005. 10 years ago they gave a presentation at this event about their international growth ambitions and how they wanted to tackle this. We are now 10 years on and Patrick Verkaart will look back on how YourSurprise has fared, with all the great successes, but of course also the growing pains that come with it. These have led to a number of interesting learnings for webshops that share the ambition to grow rapidly internationally and also want to conquer the world.
