Helloprint operates in the United Kingdom, Spain, France, Germany, Austria, Ireland, Italy, Portugal, Denmark, Sweden and Poland and also under the Drukzo name in the Netherlands and Belgium. Chief Marketing Officer Rick Molenaar is a speaker at the Cross Border e-commerce Event and shares Helloprint's cross border growth with us.
- Helloprint is growing very fast, thanks in part to investors. How do you manage that growth?
Growth is made possible and can only be managed through a combination of scalable and easy-to-use systems, a mature data setup and the very best people. These three component are essential to achieving the rapid growth.
- What do you do from the Netherlands and what happens locally in the countries where you operate?
Our marketing, IT and purchasing activities take place at our headquarters in Rotterdam. Our Customer Service for the Netherlands, Belgium and United Kingdom also takes place in Rotterdam. International Customer Service (Spain, France) takes place at our international office in Valencia.
- What is the biggest challenge in your industry?
To compete in our industry requires certain scale. Achieving this scale in a heavily competitive market creates a challenge.
- What are your plans for the near future?
After making our systems more scalable, we want to start conquering the rest of Europe. After successful launch in the entire continent, international rollout is on the agenda.
- What would you advise entrepreneurs who want to start selling online across borders?
Don't wait too long to research or make a decision, but start lean and small and be guided by feedback and data. The real information you get from a market can guide decisions much better than long-winded desk research.
